Here's how we differ from other programs:

Unlike most internships where you just work for experience, we all share in the work, the risks, and the profit. We train you for free. Those who stand out, work on Feature Films, Music Videos, and TV Shows. When the projects are sold or licensed, you are paid for the hours you worked. *If you don’t stand out, you can take your new knowledge and go prove us wrong. We will support you, regardless.
Unlike other local programs, the instructors are working professionals who have produced award-winning screenplays, films, shorts, and TV pilots. Also, the acting instruction is taught by someone who has "starred" in films and major TV shows and has taught actors who are starring on TV shows and films currently.
After training, those who stand out will intern on set at the end of the program. The projects are pitched to the major networks after they are shot, so you’ll get professional credit at the least when the project is distributed. *If the project fails to get distribution, you still get to claim the credit to build your resume, and those who stand out will always get a good reference from us for other projects in the industry.

How to “stand out” after you’re chosen:

1. Show up on time:

In our book, On Time, means “you’re early”, ready to work at the time scheduled. Early is expected. Showing up at the exact time of work means “you’re late” you can’t arrive on set and work in that same minute. By the time you set your things down, you’re late. Late is unacceptable. *Of course, things come up. But always call or text if you KNOW you’ll be late.

Be the one people notice because you’re asking questions when it’s appropriate. Be the one people notice because you’re helping with equipment immediately when asked. Don’t be the person always taking or asking for breaks. Don’t be lazy. Show that you really want to be there and that you appreciate the opportunity.

What you get from training:

A crash course on screenplay format and structure.
A crash course on lighting for film.
A crash course on sound engineering for film (including body mic instructions, boom operation, and basic mixing)
A crash course on editing.
A crash course on cinematography (Director of Photography/Camera)
A crash course on directing.
A crash course on producing.
A crash course on acting (acting for beginners). *Those who want intermediate and advanced training can pay for coaching.

What we get from working with you:

1. There’s no obligation for you to work with us after the training.

2. Our desire is to Tyler Perryize Louisville, meaning we want to grow the film industry from the inside out, not the outside in. We want to be able to create our own industry, created by people from Louisville and the region. That said, we hope that you stick around and intern on the TV show, film, or video we are shooting at the end of the program. *Again, when the cooperative is successful (e.g., when we distribute the TV, Film, and video projects, we all share in the profits-along with the credits, of course).

3. Your projects are essential to grow our local industry. Along with our own projects, if you have projects, we consider viable, we will help you make your film by either partnering with you or connecting you with others in our program who would be a good fit. *Note, our standards for subject matter, first and foremost, are projects that affect change, that can make the world a better place, that can teach valuable life lessons. Those will be the projects we support.
