Those who stand out work on Feature Films, Music Videos, and TV Shows with the cooperative.

1. Compete! Send us a short film or video of your best work.
2. Write a one page essay about why you want to be an Academy member. Why do you deserve this opportunity? What will you do with this education and opportunity? What are your experiences (if any) in TV/Film production and/or acting?
In our book, On Time, means “you’re early”, ready to work at the time scheduled. Early is expected. Showing up at the exact time of work means “you’re late” you can’t arrive on set and work in that same minute. By the time you set your things down, you’re late. Late is unacceptable. *Of course, things come up. But always call or text if you KNOW you’ll be late.
Be the one people notice because you’re asking questions when it’s appropriate. Be the one people notice because you’re helping with equipment immediately when asked. Don’t be the person always taking or asking for breaks. Don’t be lazy. Show that you really want to be there and that you appreciate the opportunity.
Show that you’re hungry for success!

1. There’s no obligation for you to work with us after the training.
2. Our desire is to Tyler Perryize Louisville, meaning we want to grow the film industry from the inside out, not the outside in. We want to be able to create our own industry, created by people from Louisville and the region. That said, we hope that you stick around and intern on the TV show, film, or video we are shooting at the end of the program. *Again, when the cooperative is successful (e.g., when we distribute the TV, Film, and video projects, we all share in the profits-along with the credits, of course).
3. Your projects are essential to grow our local industry. Along with our own projects, if you have projects, we consider viable, we will help you make your film by either partnering with you or connecting you with others in our program who would be a good fit. *Note, our standards for subject matter, first and foremost, are projects that affect change, that can make the world a better place, that can teach valuable life lessons. Those will be the projects we support.
Simple, we train you, then we shoot.
NOTE: Upon consideration for the cooperative, we will meet with you and go over a cooperative agreement, stating that you will be an unpaid intern during the shoot; however, when the project is sold or licensed for distribution, you will be paid the standard crew or actor Union or Non-Union rate (depending on how the project is classified when shot) for every hour you worked on the project.
After we’ve reviewed the videos and essays, we will message you by April 2, 2026.
If you do not hear from us, do not give up.
Look for the next class of Cooperative interns at the end of the summer.
